IL RIGO

Il Rigo is the ideal place for those seeking peace and beauty. It is the starting point for numerous itineraries either on foot, by bicycle or by car. Within a few kilometres there's a concentration of small historic towns (Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello, Rocca d'Orcia…) which make the Valdorcia an important centre for art and culture. We farm our land organically growing wheat and alfalfa and we have an olive grove. The extra virgin olive oil is cold pressed in the local old stone olive mill. Our rooms are shared in two buildings: Casabianca, a stone building whose original structure and layout have been carefully preserved, where is placed our restaurant, where every evening we prepare traditional and genuine dinners, and Poggio Bacoca, a red brick building built during the 1930. At breakfast, served in Casabianca, you can find home-made freshly baked cakes, artisan cold cuts and sheep cheese of Pienza!
