The parish church in the heart of the town of hot springs

Originally known as Pieve Santa Maria ad Acquas, this parish church is located in the heart of Casciana Terme, in the central Piazza Garibaldi. An ecclesiastical document dating back to the year 840 attests to its existence and original name.

The church, divided into three naves, boasts valuable works of art. Entering on the left side, you come to the baptismal font from the 1400s, while via the nave, you reach the high altar, beautified by a semicircular tribune at the rear.

On the right is a small tabernacle with an image of the Madonna and Child in the center, attributed to the Master of San Torpè (1300s), framed by Passignano’s painting of Our Lady of the Rosary.

The 118-feet (36-meter) bell tower was inaugurated in 1932 and features fine travertine reliefs made by local crafters.
