Fonteverde is an elegant 5-star thermal spa and resort located in San Casciano dei Bagni, an ancient village that has always been known for its thousand-year-old springs, where rich thermal waters flow. Built on a Medici portico commissioned by Grand Duke Ferdinand I de' Medici in 1607, it overlooks the ravines and green hills of Val D'Orcia, in an atmosphere of yesteryear.
The therapeutic properties of the waters
The thermal pools, open every day, receive water from the natural springs that flow from Monte Amiata at a temperature of 42°C (107.6°F). These waters are rich in calcium, fluoride, magnesium and sulfur and are used pure, without any treatment, due to the depth of their source and continuous renewal.
Fonteverde thermal water improves muscle tone and relaxes the nervous system; it also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and metabolic effects on the liver. In addition, it makes the skin smooth and bright, has a gentle peeling effect, is helpful for the respiratory system and, if drunk, is also a rich source of calcium and electrolytes.

The Fonteverde Wellness Center also offers a wide range of treatments to choose from, combining the properties of the thermal substances with modern manual techniques; tools of Western cosmetic medicine and the more ancient Eastern tradition. Health and beauty paths for face and body, but also true paths of harmony, balance and mental and physical well-being.
Among the main attractions are the thermal pools, which take advantage of mineral-rich waters to offer a rejuvenating and therapeutic experience. Then there is the Bioaquam, a multi-sensory path that combines whirlpools and hydrotherapy treatments, as well as the Etruscan path, treating visitors to a full immersion in ancient spa traditions. In addition to the pools, the center offers various spa treatments, such as thermal muds and inhalation therapies, ideal for improving respiratory and intestinal health.
Visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of massages and beauty treatments, including Rasul rituals, designed to improve the beauty of the skin and promote relaxation.
Fonteverde also offers cryotherapy to rejuvenate the skin and promote drainage of fluids.
It also has a well-equipped swimming pool dedicated exclusively to your 4-legged friends.
The center has an agreement with the Italian National Health Service (SSN) for some of the treatments, such as inhalation therapies and mud treatments, making the benefits possible for medical reasons as well.
At the restaurants within the thermal spa, you will find excellent Tuscan products and fine wines from the area's most famous wine cellars.
