Located in the lovely small center of Badia Tedalda, the Town Museum of “Alta Valmarecchia Toscana” gives us a closer and wider picture of the local historical and religious identity.
The precious archeological and mineralogy findings, which document the historical origins of the area, can be admired inside the museum, as well as Medieval, Romanic and Longobardic artifacts and fragments of architectural decorations.
We can also find a lapidarium of materials mostly sourced from the Church of San Michele Arcangelo: an arched decoration which used to adorn the main door, various fragments of capitals and architectural ornaments from the XI and XVI centuries, likewise a unique monolithic lunette with the Bust of Virgin Mary in archaic style.
The tour continues with a journey inside the memories of people life during the Twentieth Century, through an archive rich of testimonies of World War II, the Resistenza and the Gothic Line.
Alongside the small but peculiar Town Museum, it is also possible to explore the Visitor Center “Humans and Nature” - Alpe della Luna and Pratieghi. Here you are in the perfect place to discover and understand every specific characteristic of the territory; The tour will guide you through the local botanic and animal world of the Natural Reserve Alpe della Luna, and it will lead you to rediscover all those traditions that have distinguished people life in this delighful countryside.
Aside from providing tourist information, the Visitor Center offers the possibility of arrange individual or group guided tours. In particular, it has been designed with specific educational paths and activities suggested for scholar group tours; the aim is to educate young people of all ages to respect and appreciate the nature and the environment in which we live in.
