Parco Michelangelo is a park located in Florence in a scenic and privileged position: it opened in 2024 and can be found in the space of what used to be the Campeggio Michelangelo, a campsite just below the famous Piazzale.
The space was restored through major redevelopment of the area, for better integration with the magnificent surrounding hillside landscape: the folds of the slope were transformed into real panoramic viewpoint terraces and more than 700 olive trees were recovered.
In the park, with its alternating paths and trees, there is also a soccer field and picnic tables.
The walls of the masonry structures have been decorated with murals by young street artists.
Adjacent to the area, there is also the Giardino dell'Iris (The Iris Garden), an urban paradise dedicated to the flower that is the symbol of the city.
