Parco Zoo della Fauna Europea in Poppi

The Parco Zoo della Fauna Europea, in Poppi, is a unique experience extending across nearly 50 hectares of centuries-old oak, pine and chestnut trees, where visitors can admire the most interesting species of European fauna in their own habitat.

You might see animals like the Alp chamois, barn owls, eagle owls, otters, wolves, Eurasian lynx and bears as you walk the two-kilometre trail around the Parco Zoo.

In the middle of the park stands the little church named for Saint Francis of Assisi. Here you can enjoy views of the lake with its aquatic birds, the medieval Castle of Poppi, the Pratomagno mountains and the sacred La Verna mount, while Camaldoli, its monastery and the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi are a few kilometres away.
