Punta Ala Trail Center
A thick network of trails and dedicated services for bike lovers
The Punta Ala Trail Center is a mountain bike resort which is located directly on the sea of the Maremma between Castiglione della Pescaia and Scarlino and stretches for miles into the surrounding hills.
It was here in 2013 that the first edition of the Enduro World Series was held, and over the years many other events related to enduro, cross country and gravel have been held. Today this bike resort is one of the most famous mountain bike destinations on the national territory.
The operating base is located inside the PuntAla Camp & Resort, a few steps away from the beach.
The trails
The Punta Ala Trail Center flaunts a thick network of trails, roads and routes for all types of riders, from family-friendly trails to extreme downhill trails. The most beautiful trails have been subdivided and listed under three categories: Discovery, Singletrack/Enduro and Enduro. The hills closest to the base of operations, just a few kilometers from the renowned Cala Violina, are home to a varied and diverse network of trails: from routes that wind along the coast, to be done in the company of one’s family, to the more eventful single-trails for cross-country lovers, to the more challenging and fast enduro trails.
At the bottom of Pian d’Alma, less than 20 minutes from the beach, lie the most impressive hills of the Nature Reserve of the Bandite di Scarlino, a true “amusement park” for enduro and cross-country riders.
Tirli is a well-known location among riders, from which several downhill trails with extremely different characteristics start: they go from a smooth flow, to a technical and rocky section, to a narrow and winding single-trail to a true downhill line.
Even the area around Castiglione della Pescaia flaunts trails that are very funny and suitable for all, from single trails you can ride along to others that are more technical, and freeride trails.
Mechanized climbing
The mechanized climbing services offered by the Punta Ala Trail Center are well known among gravity lovers and beyond. Dedicated pickups are available by reservation to take riders near the start of enduro trails around the base of operations.
The other services offered
At the Punta Ala Trail Center you can book a wide variety of tours for all levels, from easy ones designed for families, to more challenging tours.
There is also a bike shop & service with machine shop, bike rental service (hard tail, front or full mountain bikes only, e-mountain bikes, gravel), resale of products for small repairs and spare parts. And that's not all, there is also a bike washing and pumping station, as well as a secure storage where you can leave your bike.
For those looking for accomodation and then set off on an adventure on two wheels, the PuntAla Camp & Resort offers a wide range of accommodation surrounded by greenery, in the shade of a beautiful pine forest, a stone's throw from the sea.
Opening period
The vast area, which is divided into trails and public roads, is open year-round, while the Trail Center and services follow the opening period of the PuntAla Camp & Resort.
