The “Giardino di Cino” is an urban regeneration project of the Spichisi Cultural Association, with the aim of exalting the Piazzetta Sant’Atto and Vicolo dei Bacchettoni through contemporary art. The project to restore this area in Pistoia’s historic center was created around NO HESITATION, a mural created in 2018 by internationally renowned street artist Francesco Camillo Giorgino, a.k.a. Millo. The work, predominantly in black and white, is an invitation to abandon mental schemas in favor of spontaneity and the ability to show our most vulnerable aspects.
In 2019, the area hosted the temporary intervention “Romanico Automatico” by Ecòl, an architecture studio and research platform from Prato, which proposed a reinterpretation of the paving of the urban space according to the Pistoia-Romanesque style.
Recently, the other wall of the Piazzetta Sant’Atto was also embellished by a mural by Pistoia artist Jonathan Calugi, created in early December 2024. Through a kind of indecipherable writing in white processed by an “illiterate computer,” this abstract work ponders the themes of writing and digital literacy.
