Archeo-trekking in the Etruscan necropolis of Poggio Tondo
Immerse yourself in the nature of Maremma by taking a journey back in time to the age of our Etruscan ancestors
We will walk together in a trekking with an ancient and suggestive flavour. We will visit the Etruscan necropolis of Poggio Tondo in Pian D'Alma, between Castiglione della Pescaia and Follonica.
This archaeological site is what remains of an ancient settlement, one of the coastal offshoots of the Etruscan metropolis of Vetulonia, a few kilometres away.
Fortunately, time here has spared the ruins and has given us back a wonderful necropolis and a rare agricultural settlement from 2600 years ago.
We will discover how our Italic ancestors lived in ancient times, surrounded by a rich and wild Mediterranean scrub.
