EVO oil tasting directly from the producer
Come and taste the precious green gold of the Tuscan hills, visit our farm!
Casa Julia is a small farm in the hills south of Roccatederighi, an area with exclusive vocation olive and wine. It consists of a small country house and about two hectares of land, one and a half olive grove with about 140 plants of varieties Moraiolo and Leccino. If you come to visit us you can visit the olive grove and we will tell you how we carry it out and all the works that we perform during the year. You can taste our two varieties of EVO oil, the Casa Julia Classico and the Pereti, a 95% variety Leccino.
The philosophy we try to carry forward is not focused on productivity, to the liters of oil to take home every year but to its quality, to be obtained only thanks to healthy and lush plants because inserted in a fertile soil rich in biodiversity. In the management of the land the choice that has been made is to keep all the olive grove inerred. No processing is done but only the cutting of herbs in late spring.
The olives are harvested by mid-October and brought quickly to the mill. The result is an EVO oil with the classic bitter and spicy characteristics of Tuscan oil determined by a high amount of polyphenols.
Casa Julia is also sustainable in managing olive trees (where we use only natural products) and energy use. We are equipped with a solar system that largely meets the home and work equipment needs. We also collect rainwater to use in the olive tree treatments.
We produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Tuscan Olive Trees of our own varieties Moraiolo and Leccino. You can see the chemical analysis of our oil (and learn how to interpret it!) here: our analysis.
