Hike from Sassetta to Monte Calvi
Panoramic trekking to discover the characteristic pink marble with a view on the Tuscan Archipelago
This is a new, exciting itinerary that will introduce you to some of the most characteristic places in Tuscany, between Val di Cornia and the Etruscan Coast. The small village of Sassetta, perched on a rugged hillside, hides a strong and proud soul. Surrounded by woods and the intense perfumes of the Mediterranean maquis, it will reveal ancient crafts, such as that of the stonemasons, who have been shaping the area's characteristic red/pink marble since time immemorial.
We will discover the secrets of this strong land with a spectacular route through the woods of Valcanina that will allow us to reach the panoramic balcony of Monte Calvi, a truly magical place where we will observe the sea and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago amidst a thousand flowers. We will not fail to end our experience in the streets of the historic village, also admiring its artistic and cultural heart with the typical red marble sculptures of the Contemporary Sculpture Symposium.
The tour will take place on Sunday 22 June 2025, starting at 9:00 am.
