Hiking in Pienza

The walk takes place in the first part of the day and lasts approximately 4 hours, including stops and the overall experience. It is suitable for everyone (except those with serious health conditions) with minimal precautions, such as wearing trekking or athletic shoes, comfortable clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Upon arrival at the Chapel of Vitaleta, we can stop to admire the beautiful panorama. At this point, we find the Vitaleta Refreshment area, where stopping for a coffee or something fresh is possible. From here, we walk with Pienza always in front of us until we reach the Pieve of Corsignano and visit the village so beloved by Pope Pius II. This route also gained fame for the film "Gladiator" scenes with Russell Crowe.

Important:

• For a one-way route, it is necessary to have a vehicle or a driver. The meeting point with the cars is Pienza, from where we go to Vitaleta by vehicle.
• In the case of a loop, the meeting point is in Pienza at a free parking lot. We start the walk from the parking until we reach the Chapel of Vitaleta, then we return to Pienza via another path. The route is entirely on white roads amidst the stunning landscape that characterizes the Val d'Orcia with its rolling hills outlined by the silhouettes of cypresses, which have become a symbol of this region.
