In the crete sea of val d'Orcia
Special trekking excursion in the most beautiful season of the year
This itinerary will allow us to fully immerse ourselves in the heart of Crete between Montepulciano and Monticchiello, a natural amphitheatre and Unesco heritage site.
We will admire the rolling hills of the Valdichiana with its immense views, which, on clear days, reach as far as Gran Sasso to walk through the lands of Nobile, a prestigious DOCG and one of the oldest wines in Italy.
In a crescendo of emotions we will follow a stretch of the Cammino d'Assisi to reach Monticchiello, an authentic fortified village of Roman and mediaeval origin, whose fortified structures and Pieve dei Santi Leonardo e Cristoforo we will admire before admiring the grandiose panorama of Pienza and the Val d'Orcia.
In the afternoon, we will complete our round tour with a mini urban trek in the centre of Montepulciano, a town that preserves numerous historical and artistic testimonies such as the Palazzo Comunale, the Pozzo dei Grifi e Leoni, the Duomo, the Medici Fortress, the Poliziano House and many other civil and sacred buildings such as the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi.
For those who wish (optional activity and subject to ticketing), there is the possibility of climbing the Palazzo Comunale Tower to admire one of the most spectacular views in central Italy.
The tour will take place on Sunday 27 October 2024 with departure at 9.30 am.

Cancellation
and no-show policies
The guide reserves the right to make changes to the hike to ensure the safety of the group, or to cancel the hike in case of bad weather and/or alertness.
The excursion will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 25 people.
