Beautiful hike in the countryside of Lucca and along a part of the Francigena around the village of Montecarlo
We will discover Montecarlo's most characteristic corners, such as the Fortress of Cerruglio and the Collegiate Church of Sant'Andrea. We will then enter the beautiful countryside, which offers amazing panoramic views of the Pizzorne heights. We will admire the Montecarlo DOC vineyards and olive groves before arriving at the famous Quercia delle Streghe (Witches' Oak), which will not fail to amaze us.
We will pass through small rural hamlets with elegant patronal houses, marvel at the views of the Apuan Alps that will open up in the last part of the route, which follows a variant of the Via Francigena until we return to Montecarlo.
The tour will take place on Thursday, January 23 with departure at 09:30 a.m.
