One day tour to San Gimignano, Siena and Chianti
Enjoy a full-day tour visiting Tuscan villages and exploring the Chianti wine region, departing from Florence!
The villages of Colle Alta in Colle di Val d'Elsa, San Gimignano, the Chianti area and the medieval town of Siena are located in the heart of Tuscany. These are not to be missed for those who want to learn more about the tradition and history of this incredible region.
Our staff will lead you from Florence to the first stop of the tour, Siena, the world widely known for being the city of the Palio horse race. Here, admire the famous shell-shaped square, Piazza del Campo, on which Palazzo Pubblico, Fonte Gaia and Mangia Tower dominate.
From Siena, you will travel to the Chianti hills to join a local wine tasting. Admire the typical landscapes of the Tuscan countryside and taste some of the most renowned wines of the area.
In the early afternoon, reach Colle Alta, the most ancient side of Colle di Val d'Elsa. Located in the upper area of the medieval village, this hidden gem in the south Tuscany hills will offer you a stunning landscape. Not only that, among the streets of Colle Alta, take the chance to see the former Conservatorio di San Pietro designed by the great architect Giorgio Vasari, the inventor of the Vasari Corridor.
Finally, you will reach San Gimignano, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Tuscany, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990. Here you can take advantage of your free time to stroll through the town's narrow streets and admire its squares, churches and towers. You will also be able to taste delicious homemade ice cream in one of the world's award-winning ice cream parlors! The tour will come to an end here and you will be driven back to Florence by our staff.
