Discovering Malaspina home and the Museum of the Emigration of the People of Tuscany

The Lusuolo Castle in Mulazzo in Lunigiana, is a military fortification that stands on the right bank of the Magra river controlling the Via Francigena, one of the main medieval roads. The castle was originally owned by Malaspina dello Spino Secco family.

Events, anecdotes and curiosities of six hundred years of history!

Today, in some of its rooms, the Museum of the Emigration of the Tuscan People is located. The museum was founded in 2004 with the aim of making known the phenomenon of Tuscan emigration around the world.

  • The tour departs all year round on pre-established dates and times - No reservation is required
  • Access to the Castle is via guided tours which take place every 45 minutes starting from opening time.
  • The ticket is €6 adults / €3 children (6-18 years), students and groups of over 15 people.
  • The ticket is free for the following categories: children under 6 years old; touristic guides; residents in the Municipality of Mulazzo; disabled people and their companion.
  • The tour is pet friendly.
  • The ticket is paid on the same day at the meeting place.
