Passo di Pradarena and the Apennine ridge

A route inside the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, with breathtaking views on the Lunigiana and the Apuan Alps
We start from the famous Passo Pradarena, the highest pass in the northern Apennines, to live a spectacular excursion. Among immense beech woods and clearings carved by ancient glaciers, we reach the Apennine ridge, the backbone of Italy.
We walk between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna along the magnificent "Sentiero Italia". All around us we can see the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park and its magnificent nature. A unique and fascinating territory that has been recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2015.
The ridge is an emotion to live. The view extends for hundreds of kilometres in all directions.
Technical notes: Length 14 km; Difference in height: 600mt+; Excursion duration: 6h
The excursion is suitable for hikers with good physical preparation. The path is always well marked and does not present technical problems except a short slightly exposed section. Anyway, it is easy to overcome.
Clothing and equipment: Hiking shoes, layered hiking clothing, rain jacket, poles or sticks (optional), daily backpack, packed lunch, drinking water at least 1.5 litres, hat.
