The Fosini castle and its magic
A naturalistic trekking between emotions and legends in the Cornate and Fosini nature reserve
New exciting loop in the beautiful Cornate and Fosini Nature Reserve, one of the wildest and best preserved areas in Tuscany.
We will enter the reserve from the thousand-year-old Castle of Fosini, a medieval fortress guarding the silver mines of Poggio Mutti. Overlooked by the Cornate group, it is immersed in legendary woods, where we will discover the magic unleashed by the solitude of the place and the mysterious legends related to ghosts and necromancy.
We will admire such extraordinary features as the thousand-year-old Fosini Chestnut Tree, the vertiginous rock walls of the Rio Riponti and incredible views of limestone cliffs where birds of prey rest.
Along the way, we will encounter rare botanical species. We will stop at a viewpoint at the famous Rosso Ammonitico Quarries of Poggio Mutti, which were used for the parvis of Siena Cathedral.
A loop full of emotions, legends and wilderness, not to be missed.
The tour will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, starting at 09:30 a.m.
