Tradition and wine experience at Castello di Querceto

The experience includes a walk through the village to discover the history of the Castle and the Ginori Lisci family, a visit to the wine cellar and the barrique room,  a guided tasting of our wines in our Dispensa del Castello (you have the option to accompany the wine with a platter of local salami and cheeses).

The property of the Marchesi Ginori Lisci winery extends over an uncontaminated area of 2,000 hectares in the Val di Cecina, between Volterra and the sea, consisting of hills covered with intact coppice and Mediterranean macchia.

At the heart of the estate stands Castello Ginori di Querceto, perched on a hill in the middle of a medieval village. Its long history is closely linked to that of the Ginori Lisci family, a lineage of traders, seafarers, businessmen, and entrepreneurs with a forward-thinking approach. The family has restored former farm buildings and the old theatre, creating an ideal space for the production of high-quality organic wines.

The visit ends with a tasting in our wine shop, La Dispensa del Castello, located in the village’s historic olive press. The original machinery, including a beautifully preserved stone mill, remains in place.

Here you can choose between two options:

• Guided visit in the barriccaia (ageing cellar) with final wine tasting, or 
• Guided wine tasting at the wine shop (some or all our wines), available by reservation

Booking is always required. It is always possible to taste a glass of our wines at La Dispensa del Vino during the opening hours.
