Trekking from Badia di Moscheta into Valle dell'Inferno

A spectacular hiking loop of 14 kilometers in the heart of Alto Mugello
On this trail we will pass through the deep Apennine region characterized by valleys and airy ridges, where the millennial presence of humanity is manifested in ancient hermitages, ruins, and ghost towns. We will start from the Badia di S. Pietro di Moscheta, an ancient territorial stronghold and home to the Museum of the Historical Landscape of the Apennines, and delve into the wild Valle dell'Inferno (Valley of Hell) along the Veccione stream, walking between steep walls and chestnut drying racks.
We will ascend the valley, arriving at Giogarello, a charming village with a century-old maple tree and a small church. Then, we will stop at the Monte Acuto viewpoint to admire the spectacular panorama of the surrounding mountains. Finally, we will descend to the small stone refuge of La Serra, at the confluence with the Rovigo stream valley. This hike offers a true immersion into a pure and ancestral environment.
We will spend ample time admiring these mountains before beginning our descent through majestic chestnut forests and streams.
The tour will take place on Sunday, June 16th, starting at 9:00 AM.
