Visit the city of Pisa and climb the Leaning Tower

The itinerary is absolutely easy-going, with walking at a leisurely pace. This unique experience will allow you to enjoy an unpretentious Tuscan university city where you can learn about its history and monuments, as well as the everyday life of a small and lively medieval Tuscan town.

You'll see the city from a different angle, discovering hidden lanes, photographing the city from unusual spots, and, of course, climbing the world-famous Leaning Tower and visiting the beautiful Cathedral of Pisa.

The tour starts at 10:00 am from the fountain outside Pisa Centrale railway station. From the city's southern side to the Leaning Tower on the northern side, you'll embark on a 2.5-hour walk through the historic city center. You'll learn about the city's history, its palaces, monuments, and notable figures, as well as the life of this small but ancient Tuscan university town. You'll hear about Etruscan and Roman Pisa and the centuries of glory as a maritime republic during medieval times. Along the way to the Square of Miracles, you'll encounter traces left by the Medici and Galileo, among others.

At the end of the walking tour of the medieval city centre, you'll arrive at the impressive monumental complex of the Square of Miracles. Here, you'll enter the Cathedral and then climb the Leaning Tower with pre-booked access. Altogether, your experience will last around 3 hours.
