Visit the city of Pistoia

Pistoia is a city with an ancient past made up of art, history and curious traditions. A stroll through its central streets will take you visit the main monuments of the city and immerse yourself in an authentic atmosphere.

During the tour, you will see the typical zebra-striped churches and masterpieces of Tuscan Romanesque architecture. In Piazza del Duomo you will discover the monuments that characterize the city: the Ancient Court, the Municipality, the Baptistery and the Cathedral of San Zeno. At the latter, a masterpiece of Tuscan goldsmithing, the Silver Altar is conserved.

The tour will continue along the streets of the center and lead you in front of the ancient churches of Sant'Andrea and San Giovanni Fuorcivitas, famous for their white-green duotone and the works of art they contain.

Then, you will reach the baroque Teatrino Gatteschi, an architectural jewel from the early eighteenth century and, probably, the smallest theater in the world. 

Furthermore, the visit will be an opportunity to discover the events that linked Pistoia to the city of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), and why Pistoia is defined as the Santiago of Italy.
