Winter snowshoe walk to the Lago Nero

hiking
Tours

A snow hike suitable for both children and adults, on the Tuscan Apennines

Ready for a new winter adventure? Landscapes bathed in immaculate whiteness, fir trees heavy with snow, forests where a magical, fairy-tale atmosphere reigns, gentle slopes illuminated by crisp, clear air, fresh animal tracks, and elegant snow-capped peaks... these are just some of the sensations we will experience. With snowshoes on our feet, well-equipped and ready, we will discover the unspoiled nature that Tuscany's mountains so generously offer!

A classic and beautiful winter ascent to Lago Nero begins at the Abetone Forest Botanical Garden. The magic of the Sestaione Valley, with its red spruces, frozen streams, and ancient transhumance routes, will guide us along the trail to the Lago Nero bivouac, one of the most scenic and rewarding spots in the Apennines, offering stunning views of the Reserve and the Alpe Tre Potenze.

All mountain activities require proper preparation, including appropriate information, equipment, and clothing, to ensure maximum enjoyment and safety. While we will follow a predetermined loop route, the exact location of the hike will be finalized a few days before the event, in accordance with the Meteomont snow report, to guarantee the participants' safety.

The tour will take place on the following dates: Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 08:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18 at 08:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25 at 08:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1 at 08:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8 at 08:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22 at 08:00 a.m.

Participation fee: Euro 30.00 (includes hike and snowshoe rental).
