Botanical hikes and tastings amid the blossoms of the Alpe della Luna mountain

On Sunday, June 8 2025, the tenth edition of the Discovering the Wild Orchids in the Alpe della Luna Nature Reserve initiative takes place in the Badia Tedalda territory, Arezzo.

The event features guided hikes and thematic activities to observe wild orchid specimens in person and learn about the natural environments in which they grow.
Participation is free, with booking required by noon on Thursday, June 5.

The day kicks off at 9:30 am, with the meeting point at Piazza Tedaldi in Badia Tedalda and departure for a nature hike led by Professor Loris Bagli.

At 1 pm the plan is to move to the Ostello di Piscina Nera for a packed lunch in a picnic area, with a guided tasting of "Wild Cuisine" organized by Annalisa Malerba. All-vegetable tastings of dishes and beverages made from local wild plants will be offered. Participants are advised to bring their own plates, glasses and cutlery.

This will be followed by an optional short hike at 3 pm in the surrounding meadows.

Annalisa Malerba, who has been active in the field of food and wine education for over 20 years, is the promoter of the Gorgoscura Fermenti e Flora project, dedicated to the use of wild plants and fermented foods.
