The Baroque Pontremoli spring event has been held annually since 2022 in order to celebrate the artistic beauty of Pontremoli in Lunigiana, northern Tuscany. The initiative includes a weekend of special openings and guided tours that allow about a thousand people each year to discover and admire the masterpieces of the golden century of Pontremoli art, many of which are not easily accessible during the year.
On April 5 and 6 in Pontremoli, amidst ancient bridges and imposing medieval fortifications, you can rediscover a small Baroque capital, a treasure trove of splendor and artistic masterpieces created between the late 17th and mid-18th centuries, after the annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Indeed, behind the doors of churches, villas and palaces are hidden surprising beauties that will be admired during the event thanks to special openings and guided tours: frescoed ceilings, quadratures, paintings, sculptures and works with a marked theatricality, created by great artists from the Po Valley and Tuscany.
