On the occasion of the celebrations for the 450th anniversary of the death of Giorgio Vasari and Cosimo I de' Medici, the exhibition “Quiete e rinascita. Giorgio Vasari a Camaldoli e in Casentino” (Quiet and Rebirth. Giorgio Vasari in Camaldoli and Casentino) is set up in the Monastery of Camaldoli.
The famous painter from Arezzo created many significant works in Casentino, many of which are still preserved there, as many as sixteen are those kept in Camaldoli. Thanks to this initiative, the works can be admired and known by following their chronological succession inside the Camaldoli Monastery.
A unique opportunity to visit rooms usually subject to seclusion, such as the sacristy, chapter house and choir, and admire works never before seen by the public such as the Oration in the Garden, the last masterpiece Vasari executed for Camaldoli.
Until November 3, a compelling journey into the intimacy of Giorgio Vasari's life and art, with the exceptional opportunity to visit interior rooms of the Camaldoli Monastery.
