On Saturday, November 16, Clanis Oleum, the promotional event of one of the leading products of the Castiglion Fiorentino area, the first pressed oil, returns with many new features.
A gastronomic event but also a cultural one with dedicated exhibitions and events.
The day will begin in the Aula Magna of the ISIS “Giovanni da Castiglione” with the conference “Eleiva: the green gold of the Etruscans” by the Castiglionese Cultural Educational Institution.
In the afternoon, starting at 4 p.m., the event moves to the beautiful setting of the Cloister of St. Francesco.
Main attraction the market of typical products where it will be possible to taste and sample both oil and other specialties, such as honey, truffle and garlic, directly from the producers.
There will also be a giant bruschetta cutting!
From 5 p.m., wine will become the protagonist: the “Barolo vs Brunello” association will hold a masterclass dedicated to producer Tenute Silvio Nardi of Montalcino (reservation required tel. 0575656493 -iat@comune.castiglionfiorentino.ar.it)
At 6:30 p.m. there will be talk of oil again with the announcement of the winner of the “Best Oil of Castiglion Fiorentino 2024” competition.
During the afternoon there will also be space for chestnuts and nouveau wine thanks to the Proloco.
On Sunday it will be Castiglion Fiorentino's restaurants that will give due prominence to the king of the festival: each will offer an “off-menu” dish that has oil as its protagonist.
