The photo exhibition by Antonio Manta at the Municipal Palace in Castiglion Fiorentino

Starting October 12, more than 30 photographs by Antonio Manta will be on display in the atrium of the Municipal Palace of Castiglion Fiorentino.

“Grande madre” (Great Mother) shows the author confronting landscape photography and portraiture precisely in the course of some of his many travels. The juxtaposition of the two types of images, in addition to celebrating the beauty of nature, highlights the intrinsic bond between nature and humanity, a bond often expressed through portraits of the female figure.

Through a careful selection of more than thirty black-and-white printed photos, the exhibition offers the viewer an opportunity to understand and experience firsthand the photographer's journey to discover the feminine in all its forms. The role of the mother, the source of life, accompanied by her qualities such as generosity, compassion, tenderness, and weakness, but also determination and strength, is highlighted and paid homage to.

The photographs thus restore the image - handed down from ancient cultures to modern representations - of the feminine as the fulcrum of society, capable of keeping intact the vital fabric that connects everything, thanks to its capacity for constant care, protection and sustenance.

In conclusion, the exhibition is a tribute to the Great Mother, a powerful symbol of divine femininity and a universal maternal figure, but above all to the inner strength of women, their ability to give life in all its forms, whether physical, creative or spiritual, generating, not only children, but also culture, community and humanity itself.

The exhibit will be open until November 30:
Monday - Wednesday - Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
