The Montecchio Vesponi Castle (Castiglion Fiorentino) open its doors every month thanks to a program of guided tours, until March 2025.
Dating back to the 10th century, the castle has preserved its ancient charm intact. Its 263-meter crenellated walls, still preserved today, and 30-meter-high tower make it an emblematic example of medieval military architecture. A place out of time, where a magical and surreal atmosphere can be felt.
In addition to the city wall and the little towers that mark it, parts of notable interest still survive inside, such as the 14th-century Keep and the Casa del Giusdicente or Palazzo del Tribunale (Building of the Court) from the previous century.
