The photo exhibition by Andrea Sanchini in Castiglion Fiorentino

From December 27, 2024 to January 31, 2025, the photographic exhibition by Andrea Sanchini is on display in the entrance hall of the Municipal Palace of Castiglion Fiorentino.

Protagonists of the exhibition are the majestic and fascinating Swiss Alps, which inspired the author's romantic concept of the sublime.

With more than 30 photographs depicting nature that is at once grand, enchanting and bursting, the viewer will embark on a personal visual journey among peaks, waterfalls, alpine lakes, glaciers and rivers taken in different seasons. The photographs on display are the result of countless hours of walking, nights spent in a small tent above 2,000 meters, sunrise and sunset shots often in extreme weather conditions. All works were printed by the author on Canson Bartya fine art paper to ensure the best quality.

Andrea Sanchini is a fine art photographer specializing in mountain landscapes, based in Bern, Switzerland. Born in Arezzo and raised in Castiglion Fiorentino, he lived in several countries around the world before settling in Switzerland, where he earned a doctorate in chemistry.  His passion for photography stems from his love of nature and the restorative power it offers, helping to bring balance to everyday life. Passionate about alpine landscapes, Andrea explores mountains, valleys, glaciers, waterfalls and lakes, often focusing on lesser-known places, capturing their authenticity and magic in every season. This year he was honored as the winner of the European Photographer Award in the Swiss Landscape category and was published in the prestigious Natural Landscape Photography Awards book in the Grand Scenic section.
