The 11th edition of La notte di Isabella (The night of Isabella) in Cerreto Guidi: it will be held on July 6 and 7.
La notte di Isabella is a plunge into the Renaissance. An annual event commemorating the arrival of the "star of the Medici family", daughter of Duke Cosimo I de' Medici, in Cerreto Guidi in the month of July of 1576. An event linked to a fatal occurence that involved Isabella during her stay in the city.
During the two evenings, the historic center of Cerreto Guidi is transformed and goes back in time, with period costumes, atmospheric sets and ancient activities. Visitors can live the Renaissance atmosphere by meeting nobles and commoners, attending daily life scenes, participating in games and dances which were typical of the period and enjoying performances of Renaissance music.
