Valdichiana Eating

A weekend dedicated to taste, sustainability and discovering the area. On Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11, Valdichiana Eating makes a stop in Chiusi with a new edition that will bring to life Piazza Duomo, in the heart of the historic center. 

The event is a must-attend for those who love genuine products and who want to get a closer look at the food and agricultural excellence of the Valdichiana and Val d’Orcia.

Saturday, May 10:

• 10:00 am
  Opening of the Valdichiana Eating market with km0 stands plus wine and oil tastings (in collaboration with FISAR and AICOO)
• 10:30 am
  Institutional greetings and commencement of the 7ᵗʰ Valdichiana Eating
• 11:00 am–12:00 pm
  Talk on “The symbolic meaning of food from Etruscan rituals to the present,” with EDA Cooperative and IIS Pellegrino Artusi
• 12:30 pm
  A tasting of the historic recipe Brustico, with a demonstration by Lenza Etrusca, Associazione Terzieri di Chiusi, Comitato Festeggiamenti Santa Mustiola and the Centro Commerciale Naturale Chiusi Città
• 1:00 pm
  Chiusina Challenge: tasting and voting on local dishes
• 4:00–7:00 pm
  Entertainment and workshops for children

Sunday, May 11

• 10:00 am
  Opening of the Valdichiana Eating market with km0 stands plus wine and oil tastings (in collaboration with FISAR and AICOO)

  Workshops “Tam-Tam and the City Museum - The Underground City” for children and adults, in cooperation with the Cooperativa EDA

  A tasting of the historic recipe Brustico, with a demonstration by Lenza Etrusca and local collaborators

  Chiusina Challenge: tasting and voting on local dishes
• 4:00–7:00 pm
  Entertainment and workshops for children

  Tasting of Minuta Chiusina extra-virgin olive oil by AICOO and Slow Food

  Announcement of the top-rated dishes of the Chiusina Challenge
