Filetto Renaissance

After the resounding success of previous editions, with more than five thousand visitors, the walled village of Filetto is preparing to open its doors to the third edition of Filetto Renaissance (Filetto Rinascimentale), from August 11 to August 15.

Artists and reenactors will arrive from all over Italy and many European countries with a rich program of educational activities, street performances, music, dance and theater, focusing on daily life in the late Middle Ages and the Lunigiana and Italian Renaissance in general.

Great space will be devoted to the Renaissance market, with special attention to ancient crafts thanks to the collaboration with the Equi Terme crafts group.
Daily guided tours of the village and the booths offering crafts from the 1500s.

Once through the front door the visitor will be catapulted back to the late 1400s meeting on their way fascinating dancers, old-time physicians, traveling musicians, shady figures and creatures from the Renaissance imagination. Historical stalls will fill the streets of the village, traditional cuisine and dishes from the Italian historical tradition will gladden the palates of diners.

And also: concerts of medieval, Celtic, folk, pagan and alternative music; flag-waving performances, Renaissance processions and combat demonstrations; historical lectures and book presentations in the Cloister.

Daily fighting demonstrations by the Militia San Giorgio and the Debreceni coming from Hungary, dances, flag-wavers, musicians, falconry show, acrobats and knife throwers.
