An exhibition by Giovanni Lopez at the Specola Museum

Giovanni Lopez is a visionary artist who has his studio in Florence, on Via Romana. The same street that houses the Specola Museum, a section of the University Museum System and a place dedicated to science, zoology in particular.

It was inevitable that the renovated rooms of the museum dedicate to temporary exhibitions, those on the second floor, would meet Lopez's works in an exhibition entitled "Us, animals."

In the exhibition "Noi, animali" (Us, animals) you can admire paintings, created on traditional media and with traditional techniques, that represent fantastic situations and places in which figures, both human and animal, tell stories that go beyond reality.

Animals that look like human beings, details of human bodies that look like parts of animals, in a visionary plot, in a dreamlike, timeless universe.

The exhibition was inaugurated on October 12 and will close on January 12, 2025.
