The exhibitions at Villa Bardini, at the top of the splendid garden overlooking Florence, always focus on interesting themes: from 26 September to 19 January 2025, its rooms will host OltreCittà. Utopias and Realities. From Le Corbusier to De Chirico.
An unusual exhibition dealing with the theme of the interpretation of urban spaces by great artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, described and represented through various disciplines: from painting to photography, from architecture to music.
It is therefore a multidisciplinary exhibition, held together by a common thread through 12 sections: the city as seen or seen by many artists in 100 works.
Which artists? Boccioni, De Chirico, Burri, Le Corbusier, Sol LeWitt, Pistoletto, Gerhard Richter.
The images are accompanied by literary quotations and complemented by the sound section, with music evoking urban atmospheres by great names including Luciano Berio and John Cage.
Life in the city, described as a vital organism at the beginning of the 20th century, is the great revolution and challenge of humanity today and tomorrow.
