A journey through time to discover ancient Egyptian civilization in Forte dei Marmi

The thousand-year history of ancient Egypt on display in Forte dei Marmi through precious artifacts from the Egyptian Museum in Turin. The exhibition "Gli Egizi e i Doni del Nilo" (The Egyptians and the Gifts of the Nile) will be set up from August 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025 at Fortino Leopoldo I, the only display organized outside the Museum in the year of the bicentenary.

Visitors can learn more about the arts, techniques, professions and materials used by the great civilization that developed on the banks of the Nile, thanks to a tour designed for everyone.

A journey through time, from the Predynastic Epoch (3900 - 3300 B.C.) to the Greco-Roman Age (332 B.C. - 395 A.D.), through vases, steles, masks, amulets and papyri: valuable finds from the Egyptian Museum's storerooms and normally not visible to the public, in some cases never exhibited before.

The exhibition itinerary will also be enriched by infographics and multimedia installations, with historical and scientific insights into the finds and the different historical periods, and by two relevant reproductions from the Egyptian Museum: the monumental statue of Ramesses II and the sarcophagus of Butehamun.

Also in preparation is a special audio guide, with the voice of writer Fabio Genovesi from Forte dei Marmi.
