La Versiliana Festival

Theater, dance, music, satire and cabaret, cultural salons dedicated to art, science, and politics. Plus exhibitions, a children's space and a long list of events, combining tradition and innovation.

The La Versiliana Festival, hosted every summer in the idyllic Park of Villa La Versiliana, in Marina di Pietrasanta, is characterized by an intense program of shows with a high artistic profile, a multifaceted and multidisciplinary program that unfolds over about two months. Important protagonists from the world of show business, major dance companies, songwriters and entertainers will be performing in the large open-air theater, surrounded by a lush pine forest.

Also an integral part of the Festival are the famous Incontri al Caffè de La Versiliana, the children's festival La Versiliana dei Piccoli, a series of art exhibitions and, new in recent years, the Versiliana Contemporary Theater, a more contemporary and eclectic festival section including prose, dance and theater, with renowned artists and emerging talents, offered to the public in the Barsanti Garden, a picturesque space inside the Cloister of Sant'Agostino in the historic center.

The 45th edition of the La Versiliana Festival will be held from July 13 to August 31, with the evocative title "Imagine a theater. Take away the walls... surround it with greenery", a tribute to the lush natural setting where the event will be held.

In total: 51 evenings of performances, 565 artists involved, 3 stages.

Here are some of the scheduled events:

• Great live music with Jack Savoretti, Ermal Meta, Massimo Ranieri, Francesco De Gregori, Fiorella Mannoia and Silvia Mezzanotte, with a concert-recital as a tribute to Mina
• Theatrical performances with Paolo Briguglia, Giovanni Scifoni, Chiara Francini and Monica Guerritore
• Musicals and dance, with the leading Italian dance companies and international stars 
• The comedy entertainment of Andrea Pucci, Max Angioni, Jonathan Canini, Francesco De Carlo, iCasa Abis, Paolo Ruffini, Chiara Anicito and others
• The political satire of Marco Travaglio 
• Moments of reflection with criminologist Roberta Bruzzone and psychologist Paolo Crepet
• Moments for divulging information with linguistic intelligence expert Paolo Borzacchiello, physics professor Vincenzo Schettini and philosopher Umberto Galimberti

For the Versiliana Contemporary Theater section (July 29-August 23) the 14 performances will be held in the Barsanti Garden, including contemporary prose and dance and contemporary circus.

Among the many events in the program of Meetings at the La Versiliana Café (July 12-August 31), several are also dedicated to Giacomo Puccini, on the 100th anniversary of the composer's death. 

A kaleidoscope of events awaits children from July 7 to August 31, thanks to La Versiliana dei Piccoli: 21 theater performances, creative workshops, activities for learning while having fun, readings and much more.
