Hikes and guided tours of the initiative Camminando il Montalbano (Walking the Montalbano) continue in July.
The walks continue with weekly appointments in groups of up to 30 people, upon reservation. All guided tours are free of charge and are held in both Italian and English by the environmental guide Michela Del Negro.
The calendar:
- July 4, 5 p.m.
From the hamlet of Porciano, the group will walk along the path Le Gorgole to then continue towards Poggio alla Baghera and return to Porciano, where it will be possible to visit the Church of St. Giorgio. - July 11, 9 a.m.
The walk will start from the area of Centocampi between Lamporecchio and Larciano to then take Via Bufignano uphill towards the medieval village of Larciano Castello, fortification used by Pistoia people during the Middle Ages as a control tower, to then redescend from Via Ciri with a loop route to the starting point. - July 18, 9 a.m.
After a visit to the Church and evocative Romanesque cypt of St. Baronto, the guide will lead us to discover some of the most picturesque views of our hill. - July 25, 9 a.m.
The walk will start from Lamporecchio along paths surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and then stop at the Forrà Pruno farm, producer of olive oil, vegetables, fruit and home to a small processing workshop for the production of jams, juices and sauces. After the visit, the walk continues to return to the starting point.
