A festive village speckled in red to celebrate its most delicious symbol

Every year, between late May and early June, Lari celebrates one of the symbols of this area: the delicious PGI Cherry of Lari.

Cherry production in the Pisan Hills, and in Lari in particular, is a centuries-old tradition (some documents attest to its presence since the 16th century), and as many as 14 native varieties are still grown. Some fruit with a sweet flavor and unique organoleptic characteristics, it is known and loved throughout Tuscany.

The traditional Cherry Festival takes place over two weekends with a program full of events: exhibition-market of food and wine products, cultural events, folklore, music. Stands of local producers are set up in the main square, and their baskets of cherries color the village red.

Not to be missed is the annual awarding of the producer who has managed to obtain the fruit with the best organoleptic qualities, recipient of the coveted Golden Cherry.
