The Classica al Museo festival, hosted at the Organ Museum in Massa Marittima, commenced on April 5 with a concert dedicated to the lute and theorbo, curated by musician Dario Landi.
In this unique and evocative location dating back to 1197, the Classica al Museo concerts will continue until August with a series of appointments offering a repertoire of classical works, performed on original antique instruments by young talents from the Italian musical scene, brightening up the evenings, guiding the audience on a journey of sound through the centuries. The goal is to exalt the historical instruments preserved at the museum and to raise awareness of their unique sound.
The grand finale on August 31 will showcase Emilio de’ Cavalieri’s “Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo”, composed in Rome for the Jubilee of 1600.
Admission is 13 euro and includes the concert and museum entry.
