Palazzo Ducale in Massa will host the photo exhibition "Com'era la Vandelli" (What Vandelli was like) by Salvatore Mazza from Tuesday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 30.
The exhibition is a further step in a path that has already begun that recognizes the importance of the Via Vandelli from a tourism and environmental point of view, placed in the context of the Apuan Alps Park and the Apennine Park.
On October 15, 1750, Duke Francesco III d'Este declared the Via Vandelli, which he himself commissioned, passable to reach Massa. On the day of the anniversary, October 15, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., the inauguration of the exhibition will be held, composed of rare and mostly unpublished photos that tell the significant moments of the construction of the road, conceived and designed by Pietro Vandelli, abbot, engineer, mathematician and geographer of the Este court.
An important historical artery also enhanced by this photographic exhibition.
