Returning to Montespertoli is the Marzuolo Truffle Festival, now in its 28ᵗʰ year. The event will be held on the weekends of March 15–16 and March 22–23, offering an unmissable opportunity for lovers of truffles and Tuscan cuisine.
The event was created thanks to the Associazione Tartufai delle Colline della Bassa Valdelsa, founded in Certaldo in 1992 with the aim of protecting the Bassa Valdelsa Truffle, whose production has declined due to the abandonment of the countryside. Over the years, members’ activities have enabled the preservation of numerous plants with which truffles enter into symbiosis. Today, the association manages about ten natural truffle grounds located in Valdelsa municipalities.
The menu of this food fair celebrates the authentic flavors of Tuscan tradition, with dishes that exalt the unmistakable taste of truffles, with specialties such as:
There will, of course, be no shortage of other typical delicacies, even for those who prefer dishes without truffles. All is accompanied by house wine or bottled wine, desserts made in-house and classic Biscotti with Vin Santo dessert wine.
Food stands, set up at the Montespertoli Urban Park in heated rooms, will be open every evening for dinner and additionally for lunch on Sundays.
