Original perspectives on works, people and events of Pistoia history from antiquity to the 20th century

The first exhibition of Pistoia Museum System - SIMUP, entitled “Nuovi percorsi tra passato e futuro. 5 mostre per 1 Sistema museale” (New paths between past and future. 5 exhibitions for 1 museum system), will remain open from February 8 to June 2.

The exhibition offers original perspectives on works, people and events that have marked the history of the Pistoia area over the centuries through a single itinerary spread over five venues, following a chronological itinerary that starts from archaeology and leads up to the 20th century:

  1. Pistoia, Museum of San Salvatore
Exhibition Frammenti di storie. Archeologia dall’Antico Palazzo dei Vescovi
  2. Pistoia, Civic Museum of Ancient Art
Exhibition Dalla città al museo: la galleria illustre dell’Accademia di Scienze, Lettere e Arti nelle collezioni civiche
  3. Monsummano Terme, Museum of the City and Territory
Exhibition Il tesoro di Maria SS. della Fontenuova. Storia di una devozione secolare
  4. Pescia, Plaster Cast Gallery Libero Andreotti
Exhibition Due secoli di disegno. Opere dalle collezioni civiche di Pescia
  5. Pietrabuona-Pescia, Museum of the Paper
Exhibition Giuseppe Ungaretti, il Porto Sepolto 1923. Storia di un’edizione

The exhibition enhances cultural heritage, with different themes in the individual exhibits, in a journey in which tradition and innovation are intertwined.

A program of lectures and talks are combined with the exhibition, as well as a new edition of “Domenica più”, a series of Sunday guided tours with free shuttle bus service.

The SIMUP Card, free and valid 12 months from issuance, allows visitors to visit the exhibition by taking advantage of free admission and reductions.
