TIPO – Turismo Industriale Prato

Enhancing the history and locations of textile manufacturing, the economic and cultural driving force in the Prato territory, is the idea behind the TIPO - Prato Industrial Tourism project: a journey across the history, territory and contemporary excellence of Prato's textile district.

Through a series of innovative and fun events, TIPO talks, in an original way, about the city of Prato and the sites of its textile industry, with its unusual and evocative locations. A dynamic and contemporary "Tuscany you don't expect".

An annual calendar of unique initiatives and experiences: guided tours, performances, visits to old mills and ancient factories, children's workshops and original activities for all ages in the museums involved in the initiative, in which the ancient knowledge of textile art is preserved and handed down: Museo del Tessuto (Textile Museum), Museo Materia (Materia Museum) MUMAT-Museo delle Macchine Tessili (Museum of Textile Machinery), Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci (Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art). 

The TIPO App also allows you to enjoy the TIPO itineraries and locations on your own.

Lastly, TIPO is also a festival that takes place in the spring.
