The 15th edition of a unique event celebrating Baroque music, art and culture in the evocative medieval setting of Tuscany

The San Gimignano Baroque Festival returns, from 8 to 29 September. The festival reaches the important milestone of fifteen editions, thus entering by right among the most enduring events of its kind in the territory.

The main aim of the Festival is to introduce little-known, if not completely unknown works to the general public, to showcase young talents while also making use of important musicologists and scholars with years of experience behind them, the rigorous performance of the repertoire according to the style and practice of the time and with the use of copies of period instruments such as harpsichords, lutes and theorbs, and viole da gamba.

Four concerts are scheduled in the Civic Museums, specifically in the prestigious Sala di Dante, at 5 p.m., with access from the steps inside the courtyard of the Palazzo Comunale.

The programme:

  • Sunday 8 September
