The opening event of the 10th edition of Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy

The Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy celebrates ten years of history, with an edition themed "Tracce" (Traces) which will be held from July 5 to September 2, with more than 100 concerts in the most evocative places of Siena and Siena area.

The Festival schedule includes 8 major symphony concerts, a large open-air event in Piazza del Campo, 5 opera performances, 8 first performances, more than 800 musical performers involved, 31 courses, 7 production workshops, 8 in-residence trainings.

A contemporary focus will be dedicated to the Hungarian composer György Ligeti (1923-2006), considered one of the leading and most original personalities of the New Music.
