Terranuova Bracciolini is preparing to experience one of the most heartfelt events in local tradition: the Processione Gesù Morto (Procession of Dead Jesus), scheduled from 9:00 pm on Good Friday, April 18.
Seven years after the last edition, the sacred procession returns to the streets of the village, involving more than 300 parade participants watched by thousands of spectators in a performance rooted in the history and faith of the community.
An event of faith and culture, the Procession of Dead Jesus is a centuries-old tradition that draws in the faithful and curious spectators. Inspired by the accounts in the Gospel, the procession features parade participants, including in the roles of Jesus, Mary, Roman soldiers and commoners, in a sequence of scenes tracing the Passion and Death of Christ. A moment of marked spirituality but also of great visual impact.
Attendance is free.
