49th Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte

The 49th edition of the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte will take place from July 12 to July 28, with a wide programme of musica, theater, dance, performance, research, cinema and light installation, to animate once again the cultural life of Montepulciano and Valdichiana Senese.

Twenty world premieres are scheduled for this 2024 edition, mostly commissions from the Cantiere, four orchestras including Orchestra Haydn, Orchestra della Toscana, Giovanile Italiana and Camerata Strumentale di Prato, for a festival that is one of the most creative, transversal, experimental, informative and courageous of Europe. 

As already tested in previous editions, the shows will be held not only in Montepulciano, the heart of the "Cantiere", but also in other locations in the Valdichiana Senese, such as the Collegiate Church of San Martino in Sinalunga, the Il Tondo Park in Montefollonico (Torrita di Siena), the Collegiate Church of the Holy Trinity in Cetona, the Castle of Sarteano, the Rediscovered Sanctuary of San Casciano dei Bagni, the Church of Saints Peter and Andrew in Trequanda and the Civic Archaeological Museum of Chianciano Terme.
