By gravel bike between Campiglia and Vivo d'Orcia

A gravel circuit to discover the land between Val d'Orcia and Amiata
by  Amiata

Starting from the medieval village of Campiglia d'Orcia, under the shadow of the tower that dominates the valley, we will begin the route with a valley section that will soon give way to the climb towards Vivo d'Orcia.

With the view of the valley UNESCO World Heritage Site always at our fingertips, we will arrive at the village where we will pass the "Contea", a unique Renaissance nucleus with villa and small village still intact and with incredible charm. Hidden among the trees and protected by a natural moat, they remain little known to this day.

It then resumes the climb, rough at times, but leading us to a cool and pleasant place, where the water that will reach Siena originates. Here, in addition to admiring the beauty of nature and listening to the flow of water, you can recharge your bike (if electric) thanks to the appropriate column.

Finally, the last stretch, back to Campiglia d'Orcia. Almost at the end, there it is, the Fortress of Campigliola: ruins of an ancient medieval fortification with one of the widest views of the entire Val d'Orcia. The best way to finish our circuit.
