Cycling in the heart of Chianti Fiorentino

An easy 22 km route on a gravel bike or MTB.
The loop allows you to explore a typical Chianti area, marked by vineyards, olive groves, dense woods and cypress trees, while climbing a scenic slope of the Chianti Hills.
You set off from Greve in Chianti, following the secondary road to Barbiano and, before long, you turn onto Via Petriolo in the direction of Lamole. After passing the little church of Casole, you come to the village of Lamole, a place recognized as the "historic rural landscape of Italy", which has remained intact thanks to the ancient terracing.
Leaving Lamole, the dirt road climbs further, but the slopes are acceptable. After reaching the village of Panzano, it is advisable to stop for a rest and maybe visit the Parish Church of San Leolino, one of the most ancient in the whole of Chianti.
From Panzano, continue along regional road SR222 until you come to Greve in Chianti, where you can rest and take advantage of a visit to the Museum of Sacred Art and the Wine Museum.
